MP: Jilted-lover burns Rs. 5L-cash he stole for his wedding
A man allegedly stole Rs. 6.74L cash to marry a woman he loved but when she refused, he burnt Rs. 5L in anger, said Niranjan Sharma, in-charge of Sehore (MP) police station today. Jitendra Goyal, a 22-year-old cashier in a finance company, was arrested yesterday for the theft. The FIR was registered by the manager of the firm where Goyal used to work.
The thief was apparently planning to kill himself
Police tracked down Goyal in his native Harda district and arrested him within 24 hours of the crime. "We have recovered burnt currency worth Rs. 5L, mostly in Rs. 500 denomination, Rs. 46,000 in cash and another Rs. 1,28,000 from a cupboard," Sharma added. "Goyal has told us that he planned to kill himself," Sharma said. A case under relevant IPC sections was registered.
