Income Tax Department raids Madhya Pradesh business group's premises
The Income Tax Department on Friday conducted raids at 15 premises of a business group in three different cities in Madhya Pradesh on suspicion of major tax evasion, an official said. "A team of IT officials comprising nearly 100 personnel conducted raids at 15 places associated with Bhadoria Group in Indore, Gwalior, and Bhind cities in the state," a senior IT official said.
Exact amount of tax evasion to be known after scrutiny
Documents and other materials were seized from the business group's premises and its associates during the raid. "The exact amount of tax evasion would be known only after the scrutiny of the seized material," the official said. The group currently runs hotels, a medical college and other institutes of higher education. Its other businesses are also under the scanner of the IT department.
