MP: Man attempts raping daughter, sets her ablaze for resisting
In a ghastly incident, a man in Madhya Pradesh set his daughter on fire after she resisted rape by him at their house in Bhind district. Notably, the 18-year-old girl filed a police complaint after the second incident. Post the first one, she stayed quiet fearing social stigma and told doctors she got burnt in an accident. A police case has been registered.
In drunk state, man tries raping daughter
Police said the first incident took place on July 30. The man, in an inebriated state, made advances towards his daughter. When she objected, he poured kerosene and set her on fire. With 60% burns, she was admitted to a government hospital for treatment. She maintained it was an accident. But after she returned home, the man attempted raping her again.
Accused has five daughters, three are married
On Tuesday, when she returned home from the hospital, the man approached her again, after which she registered a complaint with police. The accused had five daughters, three of whom are married. His wife is mentally unstable, reports said. He has been arrested and a case registered under relevant sections of IPC. Police are now looking to rehabilitate the daughters and mother.
