Short-film 'inspired by' Narendra Modi's childhood gets appreciation
A 32-minute-long movie called 'Chalo Jeete Hain' has made many BJP members happy. It was recently screened at the Rajya Sabha and Rashtrapati Bhawan. What makes this movie special, you wonder? It is said to be inspired by PM Narendra Modi's childhood. The movie is directed by Mangesh Hadawale. Among others, the movie was also appreciated by President Ram Nath Kovind.
In movie, tea-seller kid follows Swami Vivekananda's teachings
The trailer of this short movie dropped a few days ago. The movie focuses on Naru, a kid, who is perplexed by Swami Vivekananda's words- jo dusro ke liye jeete hain, wahin jeete hain (Those who live for others, live). He then goes about asking his parents, teacher and a random person whom they live for. Incidentally, Naru also happens to be a tea-seller.
Director claimed he didn't make movie to promote PM's policies
"I didn't make the film to promote Modiji's policies. It is simply a story from his formative years, one that stayed with me," director Mangesh Hadawale, whose debut movie 'Tingya' won accolades, had earlier said.
Members of BJP are raving about this short movie
On Wednesday, the screening was attended by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyush Goyal, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, among others. Taking to Twitter, Goyal wrote this movie inspired by Modi's childhood is enough to give direction to life. He added the story is about giving one's life for the betterment of others. His colleagues in the party had similar thoughts.
Ravi Shankar Prasad calls it an 'extraordinary' movie
Separately, Ram Nath Kovind watched the movie with senior officials
On Tuesday, President watched the movie with a few senior officials. It was suggested that the request for screening had come from the I&B ministry and the Prime Minister's Office. The Rashtrapati Bhavan has, however, denied such a claim. Notably, 'Chalo Jeete Hain' releases on Star channels and Hotstar on July 29.
