Madhya Pradesh: 10-year-old girl's molestation caught on CCTV; two arrested
In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl was groped and molested by a man in broad daylight at an apartment complex in Sadar Bazaar of Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri. The horrific incident was captured on a CCTV camera; the footage shows a man molesting the girl while another kept looking. Registered a complaint, matter being investigated: Police
Additional Superintendent of Police, Kamal Maurya, said: "Two unidentified men tried to molest a 10-yr-old girl two days ago. The accused were arrested after examining the CCTV footage of the incident." Police said the men were employed to whitewash the apartment building.
Incident took place in upscale Shivpuri locality
The video footage shows a man cornering the 10-year-old girl while speaking to her. He then reached out and tried to touch her. But when the girl moved back to a wall, he grabbed her. Another man approached the two, but did not intervene; he kept looking and walked away after some time. However, the girl later managed to escape.
Madhya Pradesh, unsafe for women and children
Madhya Pradesh is one of the most unsafe states for women and children. High rates of crimes against women and children were registered during 2011-16. According to National Crime Records Bureau, 35 cases of sexual abuse and crimes against women/children were recorded every day in 2015-16.
