TN: 7-year-old boy finds bundles of Rs. 500 notes; rewarded-for-honesty
A seven-year-old boy who found a bundle of Rs. 500 notes totaling Rs. 50,000, while playing in front of his school in Erode (TN), has come in for praise from local police after he handed it over to them. Mohammed Yasin, who is studying in the second standard at Chinnasemur Panchayat Union School, handed over the money to his teacher. Here are more details.
Boy will be awarded with honesty certificate
Yasin's teacher submitted the cash to the headmaster, who took Yasin with the cash and handed it over to Superintendent of Police, Sakthi Ganesh. As a reward, police bought garments for the boy. Ganesh said Yasin would also get an honesty certificate on July 19. The police said the person who lost the money could approach them and claim the cash after submitting proof.
