J&K: One terrorist killed, woman injured in Budgam encounter

An unidentified terrorist was killed today in an encounter with security forces in central Kashmir's Budgam district, police said.
Reportedly, a woman was also injured in the incident.
According to a police official, security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Khan Mohalla of Beerwah area after receiving specific information about the presence of the terrorists.

The terrorists, trying to flee, came out of the house and fired indiscriminately on security forces.
In retaliation, the forces killed one terrorist, whose identity and group affiliation was being ascertained.
Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the site, police said.
The injured woman is being treated at a hospital and her condition is stable, they added.
