Two air force pilots killed in Assam aircraft crash
Two air force pilots were killed when their microlight aircraft crashed in Majuli district of Assam today. The cause of the mishap isn't known yet. The aircraft had taken off from Jorhat air force station and was on a routine border sortie when it crashed at Sumoipari at 12:30pm. The deceased have been identified as Wing Commanders Jai Paul James and T Vats.
Court of enquiry ordered into the mishap
A court of enquiry has been ordered into the incident. There's no confirmation yet, but officials suspect technical flaws behind the crash. Defence and air force personnel were on their way to Majuli. More details are awaited.
