Investigation underway, no leads yet on attackers
A case has been registered under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) at the Arera Hills police station in connection with Jogi's assault. "But so far there are no clues about the culprits. Jogi has not spoken about any rivalry or previous threats. We are scanning CCTV footage from the spot," a police officer said. His injuries were so severe that they necessitated 40 stitches, according to doctors.
Who is Jogi
Jogi, who works as a dealer, gained attention on social media after his famous 'naam kya hai' meme was widely circulated. The video was first captured during the Madhya Pradesh elections in 2018, but it went viral last year. He even met former state chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan last year during a campaign trail when the assembly elections were ongoing and recreated the meme.
