CBSE Class 12 results: Here's how much the toppers scored
In the Central Board of Secondary Education Class 12 results, girls fared better than boys this year. The pass percentage of girls is 88.31% and that of boys is 78.99%. The margin is of 9.32%. Meghna Srivastava from Ghaziabad topped the examinations by securing 499 marks out of 500. The second all India topper is Anoushka Chandra who scored 498 marks out of 500.
Both first and second toppers belong to Humanities stream
Both Meghna and Anoushka belong to the Humanities stream. Meghna's marks are as follows: English core-99, History-100, Geography-100, Psychology-100, Economics-100. Anoushka Chandra scored 98 in English core, 100 in History, 100 in Political Science, 100 in Economics and 100 in Psychology. 7 students from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttarakhand secured the third position with 497 marks.
8.30% students got compartment, results improved marginally
A total of 12,737 students passed the 12th standard with 95% marks and above. Trivandrum region performed the best with 97.32% pass percentage followed by Chennai at 93.87%. Delhi's pass percentage was 89%, a marginal improvement from last year's 88.37%. The percentage of students who faced compartment was 8.30%. As compared to 2017, the pass percentage improved from 82.02% to 83.01%, this year.
Kendriya Vidyalayas have the best pass percentage
Kendriya Vidyalayas continued domination of the results with a pass percentage of 97.78%. They were followed by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, that had a pass percentage of 97.07% Private schools witnessed a pass percentage of 82.5%. Of course, the results may have made some students happy and left others disappointed. What's important is to remember these results are not the end of the world!
