You can 'march' with armed forces at Vadodara Airport
A first-of-its-kind art installation called 'Shaurya Sthal' in Vadodara Airport will make it possible for you to 'march' with armed forces. The Airports Authority of India teamed with private firms to create the installation which salutes the brave hearts. It depicts a colorful 3D painting made by MS University's faculty of fine arts. The 'Shaurya Sthal' will be inaugurated today, reports TOI.
The idea was to create patriotic environment
The curator Sachin Kaluskar said the idea was to give a patriotic feel around a newly-installed 30-meter flag post. For this, they created a realistic 3D painting on a 50X15.5 feet wall. The painting shows armed forces marching while carrying guns. City-based Vasu healthcare gave financial support for this project. Artists Bhawsingh Bhambania, Ritesh Khowal and Mahavir created the paintings.
"Person standing next to wall can click pictures with troops"
"The idea is that whenever somebody stands with the wall in the background, he or she will be able to click selfie that will make them feel as if they are a part of the troops," explained Sachin Kaluskar.
Next to wall, a gun sculpture will be installed
Not only this, the airport will also have a 10-feet long gun sculpture right next to the wall. This is being prepared by Kewal Kahar and in agreement with the composition of artwork. "The gun is the weapon that protects our soldiers and ultimately all citizens," said Kaluskar. Moreover, the artwork is being made from scrap to promote concept of reuse, recycle and reduce.
