Mixed reactions to CBSE Class 12 Chemistry paper
Class 12 students of CBSE appeared their Chemistry exam today. The question paper evoked mixed reactions: while many claimed it was easy, others felt some items were tricky. Many teachers felt it would be hard to score well due to a few difficult questions. The Physics paper was hard too, students felt; thousands had signed an online petition for lenient marking in the subject.
'No tricky questions, those who studied properly can solve'
For Raghav Rajpurohit of Kendriya Vidyalaya (Jaipur), there was no tricky question in chemistry, "unlike physics." Soumya Meena of Notre Dame Academy (Patna) also found it easy, saying "practicing all exercise questions from NCERT books and the last 10 years' questions papers helped." Sumit of Vivekananda School (Dehradun) felt "someone who has studied the subject won't have issues in solving it."
'Numerical questions were difficult, but paper not too long'
However, for Preeti Vishwakarma of Bal Bharti School (Bhopal), "The paper wasn't straight. I found difficulty in solving numerical questions." Anmol Dogra of St Francis School (Bhopal) too said it was difficult, but "it was not lengthy."
'Easy to pass but hard to score well'
According to Neeta Chaturvedi, teacher (Bhopal), "It is easy to pass but it is hard to score well as organic chemistry and numerical questions were quite tricky to solve." "The questions were easy and direct. Anyone who would have solved previous year's questions and covered the NCERT exercises can score above 80. The questions were easier than last year's," added Abha Choudhary, teacher (Patna).
Class 12 exams to end on April 13
For Class 12 students, the last paper will be Physical Education on April 13. As many as 11,86,306 candidates have registered for the exams this year. Exams will be conducted across 4,138 centers in India and 71 abroad.
