In a horrendous incident, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father and uncle in Karnataka's Mangaluru, reports TNM. The case came to light when the victim and her mother approached police to complain against the former's uncle. Upon investigation, police learned that not just did the uncle but the victim's father also raped her. Here's what happened.

Uncle raped the victim in his house
According to the daily, the victim and her mother went from Bantwal to Ullal. They were paying a visit to the ailing mother of the victim's uncle. After meeting her at a local hospital, the victim, along with her mother, came to her uncle's house. On Wednesday night, the uncle raped the victim and threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke up.

Uncle was arrested on Thursday, spoke about victim's father
The uncle is reported to have told the victim that "she is old enough to be a woman". On the complaint of the victim and her mother, Ullas police registered a case and arrested the uncle on Thursday. When he was interrogated, the accused said he knew that the victim's father raped her, and assumed "he could do the same".

"He told us that he had information that the minor girl's father had been raping her for nearly a year. He said he thought that he too could force the girl to have sex with him since her father was doing the same," police said.
Action
Victim's father is absconding
Police said they informed Child Line when they learned about the father's actions. The victim confirmed she was raped by her father. A case under IPC Section 376 (rape) and Sections 4 (penetrative sexual assault) and 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the POCSO Act has been registered. While the uncle was taken into custody, the victim's father is at large.
