During a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh's Baheri, Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi abused an official and made fun of his weight after receiving a complaint of corruption against him. Maneka Gandhi had lost her cool only months ago
This isn't the first time that Maneka Gandhi has raised her voice against corruption. According to a ToI report from December last year, Gandhi had slammed MLAs for indulging in corruption and making money illegally. Addressing a gathering in Pilibhit, UP, the minister had, using strong language, said that "Unclothed people become legislators and construct big houses within a year of winning elections".
Shiv Sena spokesperson slams Maneka Gandhi for her behavior
While many on social media praised Gandhi for standing up to corrupt officials, Shiv Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande slammed Maneka Gandhi for her unruly public behaviour. Gandhi's behavior, Kayande said, was an "embarrassment" to the government. Kayande also took the opportunity to criticize the the BJP government over the PNB fraud case and the earlier cases of Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi.
