Ludhiana man awarded death sentence for killing cousin, her mother
A court in Ludhiana district of Punjab has sentenced a man to death for killing his 22-year-old cousin and her mother in May 2013. The court of Additional Sessions Judge Arunvir Vashishtha pronounced the verdict yesterday. Calling it a "rarest of the rare" crime, the court, in its order, said that the convict, Rishu Grover (30), "be hanged till death" for it. Here's more.
He was enraged when her marriage got fixed
Rishu had killed Heena Grover and her mother Usha Rani (55) at their residence on the intervening night of May 21 and 22, 2013. According to the FIR, Rishu and Heena were in a relationship and the accused was infuriated over Heena's marriage getting fixed with someone else. After committing the crime, he managed to escape with cash and jewelry, as per the FIR.
