Lucknow man suffers allergy after using 'extended pleasure' condom
This Lucknow man could never have imagined what his quest to longer sex would be, when the condom that claimed to give him "extended pleasure", turned painful as he suffered an all allergic reaction. As per a report in SunOnline, the man was taken to King George's Medical University in Lucknow, after his penis began to swell up and parts of it turned black.
He was diagnosed with penile gangrene
A team of doctors, led by Dr. Ashish Sharma, ran a series of tests and diagnosed him with allergic contact dermatitis, and gangrene of the penis, which means parts of his penis were beginning to rot away. The condoms claiming "extended pleasure" contain a topical medication, benzocaine, which at times leads to penile gangrene. Doctors have seen only four such cases since 1996.
But, what is penile gangrene?
Fournier's gangrene is a rare fulminant, and is usually a localized disease of the scrotum and penis, with an occasional extension up to the abdominal wall. Apart from the extended pleasure condoms, there are various other factors that may cause gangrene. Such factors include diabetes, having experienced trauma to the penis, using a c*ck ring sex toy, as well as penis operations.
The Lucknow man has healed well
Not only did the doctors give the Lucknow man antibiotics to reduce the swelling, but the surgeons also operated on his penis to remove the rotting tissue, and also performed a skin graft. "His treatment was carried out for three weeks, and he was 'doing perfectly fine' six months later and reported 'no sexual or urinary complaints'," his doctors said.
