Haryana-shocker: Man rapes daughter for six-months, tells her it's normal
In an abominable incident, a 37-year-old laborer working in Pataudi village, Haryana, raped his 13-year-old daughter for six months and manipulated the minor into believing it was normal. The accused was arrested on Friday evening. He lived in a factory, where he worked, along with his second wife and four children including the victim. The victim's stepmother lodged a complaint against her husband.
During interrogation, accused shows no signs of guilt
Poonam Singh, SHO, women of Manesar police station was surprised at the accused calmness during interrogation. She said he did not show any signs of guilt. "What is shocking is that he had manipulated the girl into believing that such sexual abuse happens in every house," she said. For the last six months, he kept raping her and threatened her to keep quiet.
Victim complains to stepmother, she takes action
The victim's stepmother, who works as a domestic help, didn't believe her when former complained about her father's actions. On Friday, she returned home early to know if the accusations were true. She was shocked to see her husband assaulting the daughter. "It was quite brave of the stepmother to lodge a complaint as many people choose to remain silent," the SHO said.
Accused booked under POCSO act, victim recuperating
The man, who hails from Bihar, was booked under POCSO act and sent to judicial custody. The SHO said the victim is living with her stepmother and is currently in shock over what happened. She was given counselling at the police station.
