What we know about the crime
According to the police, Vinod Dhansing Pawar, a resident of the Omerga tehsil in the Osmanabad district, had an argument with his wife, Priyanaka Rathod on Thursday.
It's not known what the argument was about, but it escalated, and Vinod strangled Priyanka to death.
Later, the woman's kin told the police that Vinod used to demand money from Priyanka's parents, and this often led to quarrels between man and wife.

After murdering Priyanka, Vinod then slept beside her corpse through the night, before heading to the police station in the morning.
He turned himself in at the Murum police station, and confessed to his crime.
Police said that the couple - a borewell commissioner and a nurse - had married just nine months back.
