J&K: Man arrested for killing his fiancee; dead body recovered
A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his 24-year-old fiancee in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The dead body of a missing woman namely Rifat Bano, a resident of Gujar Patti Sangri Colony, has been recovered from Mohara Uri on the instance of her fiance Sajad Ahmad Bhatti, a police spokesman said. The woman went on missing on May 10. Here's more.
Accused was booked under Section 302
Bano's family has lodged a police complaint. During the investigation, the fiance of the missing woman emerged as the prime suspect. While questioning, he confessed to having murdered the woman, the spokesman claimed. The woman had reportedly gone to meet her fiance with whom she was formally engaged, the spokesman said. The accused has been booked under Section 302 of Ranbir Penal Code.
Motive behind murder was love triangle
The initial investigation suggests that motive behind the murder was love triangle as the accused was allegedly having affair with some other woman, which is being further probed.
