Haryana man discovers tenant's affair with wife, buries him alive
What's the story
A shocking case from Rohtak, Haryana, has surfaced where a man allegedly murdered his tenant over an affair with his wife.
The crime, which took place in December 2024, came to light only recently when the police nabbed the accused after a detailed investigation.
The victim, Jagdeep Singh, was a yoga instructor at Baba Mastnath University and lived in a portion of landlord Hardeep Singh's house.
Affair exposed
Accused discovered wife's affair with tenant
Singh had suspected his wife of cheating and found out about her affair with Jagdeep.
He reportedly hired some men to dig a seven-foot-deep pit in Pantavas village of Charkhi Dadri in the guise of preparing for a borewell.
On December 24, 2024, he and his friends abducted Jagdeep after he returned from work. They tied him and thrashed him before taking him to the pit site in Charkhi Dadri.
Gruesome murder
Jagdeep was beaten, buried alive
At the pit site, Hardeep and his accomplices allegedly taped Jagdeep's mouth to muffle his screams. They then threw him in the pit and covered it up with mud while he was still alive.
The gruesome act remained undetected till January 3, when a missing person's report was filed at Shivaji Colony Police Station.
Police managed to gather sufficient evidence from Jagdeep's call records to detain Hardeep and one of his friends, Dharampal.
Recovery
Body recovered after 3 months
After arresting the suspects and securing their remand, police questioned them on the murder.
Jagdeep's body was recovered on March 24, three months after he was killed.
Kuldeep Singh, in-charge of the Crime Investigation Agency unit, said other suspects in the case would be arrested soon.
"The post-mortem has been conducted and we are waiting for the report," Singh added.
