Kolkata: Metro services affected as man attempts suicide at station
A suicide attempt by a man at Kolkata's Girish Park metro station affected the underground train services for 40 minutes today, a Metro spokesperson said. The unidentified man allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping on the tracks when a train entered the station in the up line. Owing to the incident, metro services were affected from 3.33pm to 4.13pm, the spokesperson said.
Truncated services were maintained effectively
The injured man was lifted and taken to a hospital for treatment, a police officer said. Truncated services were maintained during the period, between Maidan and Kavi Subhash stations in the southern part of the Kolkata city.
