Man arrested for graffiti at Delhi Metro station, threatening Kejriwal
A 32-year-old man has been arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly scribbling threat messages against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the walls of the Delhi Metro station. The messages were discovered on Monday at Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, and Patel Nagar Metro stations. Following this, an FIR was registered, and Ankit Goyal was subsequently arrested from Bareilly for interrogation.
Accused has no association with any political party: Police
According to ANI, Goyal is not affiliated with any political party. The police said that he is highly educated and works at a renowned bank as a loan manager. They suspect the accused is in poor mental health; however, the same will only be confirmed after a medical examination. During questioning, Goel stated that he used to be an AAP supporter but grew dissatisfied with "recent developments" in the party.
AAP accuses BJP of plotting attack on chief minister
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), meanwhile, has pointed fingers at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly orchestrating an attack on Kejriwal. AAP MP Sanjay Singh claimed that this supposed conspiracy was being directed from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). "The BJP is now plotting to launch a deadly attack on Arvind Kejriwal. This conspiracy is being conducted directly from the Prime Minister's Office," Singh stated.
AAP questions inaction despite threatening graffiti evidence
Senior AAP leader, Atishi, also raised questions about the lack of action from the police and Cyber Cell despite the circulation of threatening graffiti images on social media. She pointed out that these metro stations are under constant surveillance with CCTV cameras and round-the-clock security personnel. "These stations are under CCTVs and security personnel are posted round-the-clock. Why are the police not acting on it? Where is the Cyber Cell?" Atishi questioned.
