Maharashtra: Retired government official found dead with bullet injuries
A 72-year-old retired government official was found dead on Wednesday with bullet injuries in his bungalow in Maswan locality (Palghar), Maharashtra. He was identified as Pandarinath Sankhe, an ex-Tehsildar of Vasai. "Four bullet wounds were found on the temple of the victim," said Manor police station official. A case of accidental death has been registered for now but police aren't ruling out any possibility.
A licensed revolver was found lying close of victim: Official
The official said the incident happened when Sankhe had just returned from his morning walk. "His wife and security guard heard gunshots and rushed in to see him lying in a pool of blood. A licensed revolver was lying close to him," he added. Sankhe was declared dead on arrival by local hospital authorities. His body has been sent to JJ Hospital for autopsy.
