Maharashtra: Traffic hit after two wagons of goods-train catches fire
Train traffic was hit in Maharashtra after two wagons of a goods train caught fire in Dahanu of Palghar district on Thursday night. The goods train was coming from Surat and incident occurred 6km from Vangaon station at around 10:45 PM. The wagons contained plastic granules. Overhead wire snapped and fell on moving train
Reports suggest an overhead wire snapped and fell on the moving train, sparking the fire. "The fire was caused due to sparks from the overhead wire as it carries around 25,000V current and huge balls of fire were seen," Singh said. Officials of the railways and firefighters rushed to the spot. Western Railway's general manager AK Gupta was present during restoration work.
Few Mumbai-bound trains have been canceled
