PM Modi condoles death of 16 laborers in Maharashtra's Jalgaon
Sixteen persons were killed after a truck overturned in the Jalgaon district of Maharashtra, the police said on Monday. The incident took place near Kingaon village in Yawal taluka on Sunday night when a papaya-laden truck overturned near a temple. All the deceased hailed from Abhoda, Kerhala, and Raver in the district, the police said. Five people also suffered serious injuries.
Children aged 3, 5 among those deceased
The deceased were reportedly identified as Shiekh Hussain Shiekh (30), Sarfaraz Kasam Tandavi (32), Narendra Waman Bagh (25), Digambar Madhav (55), Dildar Hussain Tadvai (20), Sandeep Yuvraj Bharerao (27), Ashok Jagan (40), Durabai Sandeep Bharerao (20), Ganesh Ramesh More (5), Sardha Ramesh More (15), Sagar Ashok Bagh (3), Sangeeta Ashok Bagh (35), Samanbai Ingle (24), Kamaabai Ramesh More (45) and Sabnur Hussain Tadvai (53).
Modi expresses sorrow over 'heart-wrenching accident'
Reacting to the "heart-wrenching accident," Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow and extended condolences to the families of those deceased. He also wished for the quick recovery of those injured in the accident. "Heart-wrenching truck accident in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest," he said in a tweet.

Yesterday, 14 died in road mishap in Andhra Pradesh
On Sunday, in another road mishap, 14 people, including a child and eight women, were killed after a minibus collided with a truck in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district. The incident had taken place at around 4 am near Madarpur village in Veldurti Mandal when the bus was on its way to Ajmer in Rajasthan. The bus was carrying a group of pilgrims from Madanapalle.
