Madhya Pradesh: Dog proves loyalty, rescues 14-year-old from rapists' clutches
With a dog around, help is almost always available! But what this dog did, it proves why they are known for their loyalty. The incident happened on Friday, when a 14-year-old girl shouted for help after being gang-raped. Hearing the cries, her dog swiftly jumped into action and bit one of the rapists in his leg, who fled writhing in pain.
Duo kidnapped girl, took her to nearby hut, then raped
The girl, a resident of Kareela village of Sagar district (Madhya Pradesh), was to get fodder to create smoke for getting rid of mosquitoes. As soon as she stepped out of her hut, two men, Aishu Ahirwar (39) and Punit Ahirwar (24), kidnapped and took her to a nearby hut, which had cattle-feed stacked. They then held her at knife-point and allegedly raped her.
Dog was attacked with knife, it barked nonetheless
The girl screamed at the top of her voice, which her dog heard. It rushed to the spot and bit Aishu on his leg, who in retaliation, attacked it with a knife. But it continued barking giving the victim time to free herself from her rapists' clutches. The dog's continuous barks and commotion alerted people from nearby houses. By then the duo had fled.
The accused were arrested on Saturday, faces relevant charges
The people who had gathered took the girl to a hospital, said Motinagar police station in-charge Vipin Tamrakar. While the girl and her family filed a complaint on Saturday, the accused were arrested on Monday. They face charges under relevant IPC Sections and POCSO Act.
