#DUPlacements: LSR student receives all-time high package of Rs. 38L
This year's placement season has shined upon Delhi University colleges, as some of them have received an all-time high salary package, with mostly the Economics students bagging it. An Economics (Hons.) student from Lady Sri Ram College for Women (LSR) has landed up with the highest salary package at Rs. 38L per annum. This year, there was also a marginal increase in average salary.
Last year, LSR was offered a maximum of Rs. 37L
The highest offer at LSR last year was Rs. 37L for the same job based out of Singapore. According to Kanika Ahuja, LSR's Public Relations Officer and Associate Professor of Psychology, the package this year was high because the job is based in India.
St. Stephen's creates record, highest salary-package sees Rs. 11.4L hike
St. Stephen's College saw a meteoric rise in the salary package as an Economics (Hons.) student was offered Rs. 31L per annum by EY-Parthenon. "The highest package last year stood at Rs. 19.6L," a placement coordinator of the college told media. The average annual offer for the college also increased from Rs. 8L last year to Rs. 8.9L this year.
Hyderabad-native student acquires St. Stephen's highest salary package
Nitish Vasav Korada, who secured the EY-Parthenon offer at St. Stephen's, said, "I wanted to work straight after completing graduation. I had started preparing for consulting after coming to know that it was a sought-after field." Korada originally belongs to Hyderabad.
Hindu College's gross salary-package offer stood at Rs. 3.2cr
Hindu College too saw a jump in highest salary package offer from Rs. 29L last year to Rs. 31L per annum this year. Three students from B.Com, Statistics, and Economics have been called for interviews. Moreover, the gross salary package offer at the college witnessed an increase from Rs. 2.9cr last year to Rs. 3.2cr this year. However, the college's faculty adviser isn't pleased.
Highest package at SRCC remained same as last year
Shankar Kumar, faculty adviser (placement) at Hindu feels increase in offers is marginal, and "it's still not phenomenal". The only college where the highest offer remained flat compared to 2018 was at Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). EY-Parthenon made the highest offer here too at Rs. 31L, which was bagged by a B.Com student. The placement-season will continue till end of academic session.
