In India, most science students who have completed Class 12 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) opt for engineering. Engineering is the most-preferred option among such students as it offers an exciting variety of job opportunities. However, students with the PCM background have a range of other exciting courses for a lucrative career. Here are some options other than engineering for PCM students.
Students can go for architecture after Class 12
Students who have completed Class 12 in the PCM background can go for Architecture which is a great career option. They can pursue the five-year Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) course by appearing for the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) or JEE Main Paper II. Also, mathematics is a compulsory subject in 10+2 examination to appear for these entrances.
PCM students can also pursue BSc in various subjects
After Class-12, PCM students can also go for bachelor programs in sciences and pursue a three-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) in various subjects. They can choose from a ton of BSc courses, including those in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Anthropology, Home Science, Sports Sciences, etc. There are other interesting and tech-related BSc courses in subjects like Computer Science, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Food Technology.

A career in commerce is also a good choice for Class 12 students with PCM background. They can pursue the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) course at top colleges, which is another lucrative option. Mathematics is a compulsory subject for BCom.
