Ex-RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, one of most famous IIM-A alumni
Raghuram Rajan, a world-famous economist and former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, is one of the most famous IIM-A alumni. He was the 23rd RBI Governor (2013-16). After graduating from IIT-Delhi, he earned a PGDBA from IIM-A in 1987. He also served as the Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund (2003-06) and India's Chief Economic Adviser (2012-13).
Ajaypal Singh Banga, the President and CEO of Mastercard
Ajaypal Singh Banga, an Indian-American business executive, is also an IIM-A alumnus. He is the President and CEO of global payments giant Mastercard. He graduated from Delhi University's St. Stephen's College and pursued MBA from IIM-A. In 2015, US President Barack Obama appointed Banga as a Member of President's Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. He was also awarded Padma Shri in 2016.
Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle is also an IIM-A alumnus
Renowned Indian cricket commentator and journalist, Harsha Bhogle, is also one of the most famous IIM-Ahmedabad alumni. He earned BTech from Hyderabad's Osmania University and pursued PGDM from IIM-A. Bhogle, who was born in Hyderabad, began his career as a player for Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association. He started commentating at 19 with All India Radio and went on to become a celebrated cricket commentator.
Sanjeev Bikhchandani, the founder of Info Edge India
Sanjeev Bikhchandani, the Founder and Executive Vice Chairman of leading Indian Internet firm, Info Edge India, is also an IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus. After graduating from St. Stephen's College in Delhi, he completed MBA from the IIM in 1989. He founded Info Edge in 1990 along with a partner. It owns some of the most popular Internet portals like Naukri.com, Shiksha.com, 99acres.com, and JeevanSaathi.com among others.
Deep Kalra, the founder of MakeMyTrip, is an IIM-A alumnus
Deep Kalra, Founder and Group CEO of leading online travel company MakeMyTrip, is also an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad. Kalra, who graduated in Economics from St. Stephen's College of Delhi University, obtained an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad in 1992. He founded MakeMyTrip, which is headquartered in Gurugram, in 2000. Before establishing the company, he worked with top firms like GE Capital and ABN AMRO Bank.
