Video: Terrifying moment leopard catches pet dog caught on CCTV
What's the story
A leopard attack in the Warulwadi area near Narayangaon, Pune, has left local residents in a state of fear.
The incident, which took place late Saturday night, was captured on CCTV footage.
The video shows a leopard emerging from a dark alley around 11:00pm and swiftly grabbing a pet dog before disappearing into the night.
Another dog can be seen giving chase but to no avail.

Residents demand action following leopard attack
In the wake of this unsettling event, villagers are demanding immediate action from the forest department to capture the leopard.
This is not an isolated incident, as a leopard was spotted on the Rajarambapu Institute of Technology campus just a month ago.
Junnar, where the latest attack occurred, is one of four Pune tehsils declared "potential leopard disaster-prone areas" in June.
The other three are Ambegaon, Khed, and Shirur. These regions encompass a total of 233 villages.

Forest department is planning to sterilize 47 leopards
The forest department is now planning to sterilize 47 leopards in Junnar tehsil.
According to officials, this is the first project of its sort and includes 11 males and 36 females.
"The draft for leopard sterilization is under consideration with the central ministry. In this draft we have proposed to sterilize 47 leopards from five conflict areas including Otur, Jambut, Shirur, Bori and Lakhangaon, where repeated incidents of leopard attacks occurred," Amol Satpute, deputy conservator of forest, said.
