#CBSE2019: Last-minute preparation, revision tips for Class-10 Math board exam
Mathematics is a tricky subject and for many CBSE Class-10 students, it can be a nightmare. Math is one of the most-dreaded subjects but it is a scoring subject too. With proper preparation, revision, and practice, students can score high in Math. The Class-10 Math board exam would be held on 7 March and here are some last-minute preparation and revision tips for students.
Create a plan for revising all chapters in the syllabus
When students have only 1-2 days before the Math board exam, they must revise all the chapters and practice all concepts in order to score high. Instead of revising blindly, they must create a fresh study plan considering the concepts/chapters they have to cover and how much time is required for practicing them. They should also get their doubts cleared to avoid confusion.
Avoid learning new concepts, stick to your NCERT book
At the last-minute, students must avoid learning new concepts or practicing new questions. This might confuse them and increase stress. Instead, they should revise what they already know. They must stick to their NCERT book which is enough for the board exam as questions are based on NCERT syllabus. However, after revising NCERT thoroughly, they can go through other books for understanding concepts in-depth.
#3: Focus on important topics as per weightage
While it is essential to revise every chapter and practice all types of questions thoroughly, students should focus more on the important topics and chapter as per weightage. They should know the latest marking scheme, weightage distribution, and questioning trends in Math and prepare accordingly.
Solve previous or sample papers, or take mock tests
Math is all about understanding the concepts and practicing them thoroughly; students must focus on understanding the underlying concept to do well in Math. Thought they might not have much time before the exam, they should solve at least 1-2 previous or CBSE sample papers in a time-bound manner or take mock tests. This will help them test how effective their preparation is.
Go through all important formulae and theorems
While practicing Math questions, students should focus on the formulae they are applying and understand the concept behind them. They can list out the formulae chapter-wise in a separate notebook for quick revision just before the board exam. It is also essential for students to practice important questions and most repeated ones to improve their chances of scoring high.
