Lashkar-e-Taiba module busted by J&K Police, UP resident arrested
The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) police busted a major Lashkar-e-Taiba module and apprehended a Muzaffarnagar resident named Sandeep Sharma alias Adil and another terrorist named Muneeb Shah of Kulgam. Both Sandeep and Muneeb were involved in bank robberies and attacking of security forces. The police arrested the two after getting a tip off about their involvement in several terror cases in South Kashmir.
Sandeep Kumar involved in attack on army convoy: J&K IGP
J&K IGP Munir Ahmad Khan said that Sandeep and his accomplice were involved in an attack on army convoy at Lower Munda Qazigund and also in the killing of SHO Achabal Feroz Ahmad Dar and five other personnel. He was also involved in five incidents of looting ATMs and bank robberies in South Kashmir. Sandeep got arrested in the Mir Bazaar robbery case too.
Who is Sandeep Sharma alias Adil?
Sandeep Sharma is a UP resident. He was a close associate of Bashir Lashkari who got killed in an encounter on July 1 and got in touch with LeT through a man named Shakoor of Sopore. He participated in criminal activities using the name Adil.
Sandeep helped LeT militants carry out terror activities: J&K police
The J&K Police's IGP further stated how on LeT's command, Sandeep along with his accomplices received terrorists and dropped them at different sites for carrying terror activities in South Kashmir. IGP Khan also spoke about how Sandeep concealed weapons that were looted from police guards in a vehicle and shifted them to difference locations on the directions of LeT.
