Senior BJP leader LK Advani admitted to Apollo Hospital, Delhi
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader LK Advani, 96, was readmitted to Delhi's Apollo Hospital on Tuesday, about a month after his previous discharge. Reports said he is stable and currently under observation. Advani is being treated by neurologist Dr Vinit Suri. Before his admission to Apollo Hospital last month, he had also been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.
Advani awarded Bharat Ratna in March
Advani served as India's Deputy Prime Minister from 2002 to 2004 and as Union Home Minister from 1999 to 2004. In March, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the nation's highest civilian honor, by President Droupadi Murmu at his residence. To recall, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met with him ahead of forming his third government.
