Kumaoni folk singer Pappu Karki killed in road-accident near Nainital
Popular Kumaoni folk singer Pappu Karki and two others were killed today when their car turned turtle on Herakhan Road, around 40 km from Nainital. The incident occurred at around 5 am when they were returning from Okhalkanda. While three persons, Pappu Karki (34), Rajendra Gonia (26) and Pushkar Gonia (25), died on the spot, two other occupants of the car were injured.
Uttarakhand lost one of its gems: CM Rawat
The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Haldwani. Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat condoled the deaths and commiserated with the families of the deceased. He said Uttarakhand has lost one of its gems in the accident. Karki's latest song Chanchari was uploaded on YouTube just yesterday, and it had already garnered 16,000 views and more than 500 comments.
