KTR behind his father's 'disappearance': Telangana minister's fresh accusation
Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has made a new allegation against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao, suggesting he might be behind his father K Chandrashekar Rao's (KCR) prolonged absence from public view. Speaking in Gajwel, Surekha urged her Congress party members to file a missing case for KCR. This statement came just one day after the Rao family released photos showing him attending his wife Shobha's birthday celebrations.
Surekha's previous controversy involving Rao and film industry
The minister had previously sparked controversy by linking KTR to the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. "KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce," Surekha had said. She also accused him of tapping actresses' phones to exploit their weaknesses for blackmail.
Defamation complaints and trolling allegations follow Surekha's remarks
Her comments were met with strong disapproval from prominent figures in the Telugu film industry, including veteran actor Chiranjeevi and RRR actor NT Rama Rao Junior. Following her remarks, megastar Nagarjuna Akkineni filed a defamation complaint against Surekha for damaging his personal, professional, and familial reputation. KTR also sent a defamation notice to Surekha demanding an unconditional public apology.
