Kolkata: Six men sexually abuse minor boy for an hour
In a gruesome incident, a 17-year-old boy was allegedly sexually abused by six men in Kolkata, police said on Wednesday. The minor was assaulted in a moving car and then pushed out of the vehicle. The horror continued for more than an hour, the victim told the police. While one accused has been arrested, five others are at large. Here's what happened.
Accused were known to victim, said police
The incident happened in Khidderpore area on Monday night when the victim was returning from work. "The accused six were known to the minor boy. They forcibly took the victim inside the vehicle they were riding and sexually assaulted him," a senior police officer told PTI about the incident. The accused also snatched Rs. 17,000 and a silver chain from him.
Minor had bruise marks, deep cuts all over his body
Subsequently, the victim was taken to a nursing home where doctors confirmed that he was sodomized. His body was ridden with bruise marks and deep cuts. "We have started an investigation and arrested one of the accused. A search for five others has been initiated. All have been booked under the IPC and the POCSO Act," the police officer added.
Few months ago, two-year-old was sexually abused in school
To note, in July, another ghastly incident had been reported from the West Bengal capital. A two-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted at the playschool he went to. Back then, his mother disclosed the toddler was crying inconsolably when he returned home. Initially, she thought he was unwell but when she found that his private parts were bleeding, she raised an alarm.
While victim's father blamed school, institute refuted his version
In the police complaint, the victim's father alleged laxity on the school's part. He claimed the school deleted the CCTV footage, which would have proved crucial for the probe. But the institute claimed nothing happened inside the premises. "The parents have no evidence. If molestation had happened, they should have reacted immediately -- why wait for 24 hours?" the school's principal had said.
