'Pervert, porn addicted': Psychoanalytic profiling of Kolkata rape-murder accused reveals
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has released a psychoanalytic profile of Sanjay Roy, the prime suspect in the Kolkata doctor rape-murder case. The profile describes Roy as "a pervert with an animal-like instinct" who displayed no remorse during his interrogation. A CBI officer revealed that Roy is "severely addicted to pornography" and did not express any regret for his actions that sparked nationwide outrage.
Roy recounted crime without hesitation: CBI officer
The CBI officer stated that Roy detailed the entire crime to investigators without any hesitation. "The man showed no repentance and narrated the entire episode giving every minute detail without hiccups. It appeared he had no remorse," the officer told PTI. The victim, a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, was assaulted while resting in the hospital's seminar hall during her 36-hour-long shift on August 9.
Victim's autopsy report reveals brutal assault
The autopsy report of the victim revealed that she had been raped and brutally assaulted, with 16 external and nine internal injuries. The cause of death was determined to be strangulation. Roy was apprehended a day after the crime when he was spotted entering the building around the estimated time of the offense, and his Bluetooth headphones were discovered near the crime scene.
CBI uncovers explicit content on Roy's phone
The CBI officer confirmed that several pornographic clips were found on Roy's mobile phone. Technical and scientific evidence also placed him at the crime scene. CCTV footage showed him near the chest department at 11:00am on August 8, and entering the same building around 4:00am on August 9. The estimated time of death for the woman was between 3:00am and 5:00am on August 9.
CBI probes possible conspiracy, plans polygraph test
The agency is now investigating the possibility of a larger conspiracy behind the murder. As part of this probe, they have interrogated former RG Kar Medical College principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh for several days. The agency also plans to conduct a polygraph test on Ghosh and four other doctors in connection with the case. A former employee at the hospital had alleged that Ghosh was involved in several illegal activities, including selling bodies.
