Kolkata: Majerhat bridge collapses, at least five dead, many trapped
What's the story
The Majerhat bridge near Taratala in South Kolkata has collapsed, and many are trapped underneath the debris.
As preliminary reports come in, it's been confirmed that at least five people have died.
The death toll is expected to climb significantly as many vehicles were passing over and under the bridge when it collapsed.

Details
What we know about the collapse so far
The Majherhat bridge, located on the busy Diamond Harbour road, reportedly collapsed around 4:45pm, breaking into two pieces.
Reports say that at least one minibus and several cars have been crushed in the collapse.
Currently, state disaster teams are at the spot and are trying to rescue those trapped with aid from locals.
The injured are being rushed to hospitals.
