Ambani scion hails from India's wealthiest family
Akash Ambani was born to India's richest family and happens to be the eldest child of business magnate Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita. His father is the managing director of Reliance Industries Limited. Akash also has a twin sister Isha and a younger brother, Anant.
Did you know: Akash and Isha are IVF babies
Interestingly, both Akash and Isha were born through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in 1991. The revelation was made by Isha in one of her recent interviews. "My parents had us after seven years of marriage. We were IVF babies. When my mother finally had us she wanted to be a full-time mum. Later, she went back to work when we were five," she added.
India's richest son apparently didn't know of his family's wealth
28-year-old Akash did his schooling from Mumbai's Campion School and Dhirubhai Ambani International School. He later went on to pursue his graduation in Economics from Brown University in the United States and returned in 2013. Although he is India's richest son, Akash once stated that he wasn't aware of his family's wealth and legacy until he wrote an essay on Reliance in Class XI.
Akash started his career with a 60-member team in Reliance
Soon after completing his studies, Akash interned with his father in their family business. He started working with a team of around 60, which later founded Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, one of Ambani's most ambitious projects. Akash is currently working as the Chief of strategy, Reliance Jio Infocomm. Also, he is part of the executive committee, which is the governing body of the company.
Akash's net worth, car collection speak volumes about his legacy
According to media reports, the Ambani scion holds a net worth of $40.1 billion (Rs. 2,60,622 crore) as estimated in 2018, and has signed numerous big deals with several industries in recent years. His impressive car collection, which includes the likes of Bentley Bentayga (India's most expensive SUV), Mercedes G Wagen, Range Rover Vogue, Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe etc, drips in regality.
Akash is getting married to diamond princess Shloka Mehta
Meanwhile, Ambanis are preparing for Akash and Shloka Mehta's wedding next month. Notably, Akash's would-be wife is a diamond princess and hails from an influential family, just like him. For the uninitiated, Shloka is the daughter of the billionaire diamond merchant Russell Mehta and Mona. Russell owns Rosy Blue Diamonds, which is ranked among the top six diamond companies in India.
Akash-Shloka's wedding festivities to begin this month
Talking about the wedding ceremonies, the festivities for Akash and Shloka's D-Day will begin by the end of this month. The first event will be Akash's three-day-long bachelor party in Switzerland from February 23. Akash-Shloka's wedding will also be a three-day celebration which will start with their nuptial ceremony on March 9. Besides, they will also host an extravagant reception on March 11.
