Kerala: Passports damaged in floods to be replaced for free
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj yesterday announced that passports damaged in floods in Kerala will be replaced free of cost by the government. "There are unprecedented floods in Kerala causing huge damage. We have decided that as the situation becomes normal, passports damaged on account (of) floods shall be replaced free of charge," the minister tweeted.

Kerala floods have claimed over 35 lives, over 10,000 displaced
Kerala has been reeling under massive floods in which over 40 people have lost their lives and thousands have been rendered homeless. Around 10 districts have been affected by the floods. More than 10,000 people have been displaced and moved to some 160 shelter camps. Tamil Nadu has assured financial aid of Rs. 5cr, while Karnataka has offered relief material worth Rs. 10cr.
