Kejriwal to vacate Delhi CM residence in 1-2 days: AAP
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal will soon be moving out of the official Delhi Chief Minister's residence at Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines, his party said on Wednesday. "A house has been finalized in the New Delhi area for the AAP convener...where he will move along with his family in the next one to two days," the party stated. The exact location of this new accommodation remains undisclosed.
Kejriwal's new residence near AAP headquarters
Party sources say that Kejriwal might shift to one of the two official bungalows given to AAP's Rajya Sabha MPs on Feroz Shah Road, close to Mandi House. These bungalows are near the AAP headquarters at Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane. The party has also confirmed that "Kejriwal will live with his family in the New Delhi constituency represented by him in the Delhi Assembly."
Kejriwal's resignation and successor
Kejriwal stepped down as Delhi Chief Minister on September 17, naming Delhi minister Atishi as his successor. After his resignation, he was given a 15-day notice to vacate the official residence at 6, Flagstaff Road bungalow. The party had earlier asked the Central Government to provide an official residence for Kejriwal, considering he's the head of a national party.
