Shopian encounter: Terrorists surrender with weapons
One terrorist was killed in a gun battle between security forces and terrorists in the Shopian district of Kashmir, while another terrorist surrendered. The terrorists had opened fire on the security forces' search party which was scouring the area. A search operation is still underway to clear the area of any remaining terrorist forces.

Security forces had received intel about the presence of terrorists at Barbugh in the Imam Shahi area of the Shopian district. Consequently, they launched a cordon and search operation of the area which led to the gun battle with the terrorists. The deceased was identified as Tariq Ah Bhat, while the captured was identified as Adil Hussain Dar. Both belonged to the Hizbul Mujahideen.
