BJP MP Kateel calls Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah a terrorist
Accusing Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah of supporting the alleged killing of Hindu activists in the state by staying mum, the state BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel called him a "terrorist." The Dakshina Kannada MP held Congress and Indira Gandhi responsible for terrorism in the country. Kateel was speaking at "Jana Suraksha Yatre" (protection of people march) in Karnataka's communally-sensitive coastal and Malnad regions. Here's more.
Congress is the source of motivation for terrorism, says Kateel
Kateel alleged that the Congress is the source of motivation for terrorism in the country. He claimed, "Indira Gandhi created terrorists through Bhindranwale (Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale), but the Chief Minister has exceeded all this, and himself has become a terrorist." "I will say Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is a terrorist," said Kateel, adding that one who supports an act of terror is a terrorist.
Kateel explains why Siddaramaiah is a terrorist
"Why I said (Siddaramaiah is a) terrorist is because the one who creates terror is a terrorist. One need not hold a pistol...if he stands behind those holding pistol, it is enough. If one stands behind those holding a talwar (sword) and says I'm there, he is a terrorist," said Kateel. Kateel claimed that Siddaramaiah remained silent despite the killing of 24 Hindu activists.
What was the incident related to Hindu activists' killing?
Reportedly, RSS worker Sarath Madiwala was attacked by unidentified assailants at Bantwal on 4 July last year. He had succumbed to injuries three days later. However, the police arrested several persons including prime accused, 20-year-old Sharief, in August 2017.
