Karnataka: Woman kidnapped, drugged, raped by social media friend

A 21-year-old woman from Udupi district in Karnataka was reportedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted on Friday night by an individual she had met on social media.
The accused, identified as Altaf, had befriended the victim online three months ago.
According to police reports, Altaf lured the victim to a specific location before abducting her in a white car and subsequently drugging her with an intoxicant-laced beer.

The beer was given by two of Altaf's friends who arrived in a separate car.
The police have since seized both vehicles used in the crime.
Authorities have arrested Altaf and his accomplice Severa Richard Cardosa, who is alleged to have provided the drugged beverage.
A case has also been filed, and the accused has been charged with kidnapping, rape, and other charges.
