Rajasthan: Government school students to be sensitized on 'good-touch-bad-touch'
Students up to 14 years of age studying in government schools and Anganwadi centers will be sensitized on "good-touch-bad-touch" under a campaign in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. The special campaign will begin tomorrow under which government teachers will be trained and given a presentation, printed and other relevant materials on sensitizing students, District Collector Jitendra Kumar Soni said. 1700 schools' teachers, 1500 anganwadi centers' workers will be trained
Soni said that teachers of 1,700 government schools and workers of 1,500 anganwadi centers of eight panchayat samitis will be trained over next one month. The campaign is for boys and girls in the age group of 6-14 years. The teachers will be given tips on how kids can be sensitized. Kids of this age group do not understand about touches.
Private school association also shown interest in the initiative
The collector said that various private school association and social organizations have also shown interest in the campaign and they will be covered under the exercise. A documentation of the campaign will be prepared in next three months and forwarded to the state government so that such campaign could be launched at the state level, the collector said.
Printed and digital material have been prepared for training
Nitisha Sharma, Secretary of Inaya foundation, which will impart the training, said that printed and digital material including short movies, presentation have been prepared which will be given to teachers during their training. Teaching children about good-touch-bad-touch is very important in times when we are hearing a lot about child abuse and molestation. The good-touch-bad-touch sensitization will help prevent such incidents, she said.
