JeM terrorists attack army base in Jammu
The Sunjwan army camp in Jammu was attacked by a group of heavily armed Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in the wee hours of Saturday. One jawan has been killed in the firefight between Indian security forces and the terrorists. The fight is still raging. Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had a telephonic conversation with the J&K Director General of Police over the attack.
The terrorists attacked in the dead of night
"Around 4.55 am, suspicious movement was noticed, and the sentry bunker was fired upon and they retaliated. The terrorists have been cornered in one of the quarters. The operation is on," said Jammu Inspector General of Police SD Singh Jamwal.
Terrorists injure armyman's daughter in attack
The terrorists reportedly breached the rear side of the camp by approaching it through a 'nallah'. They hurled grenades and assaulted the base with automatic gunfire. Reportedly, the family quarters in the Sunjwan base was also stormed by the terrorists and the same resulted in the injury of a soldier and an armyman's daughter. Details are still pouring in.

While different press reports have reported different numbers of terrorists ranging from two to three, the exact number of assailants remain unknown as of now. Schools in the Sunjwan area have been closed as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, latest reports say that fresh gunshots have been heard amid search and combing operations by Indian security forces.
