IIT-Roorkee to declare #JEEAdvanced results on June 14: Details here
The fate of lakhs of students aspiring to join the premier engineering colleges, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), will be decided on Friday. IIT Roorkee, which conducted the JEE Advanced examination this year, is all set to declare the results on 14 June. Notably, out of 2.45 lakh candidates who qualified for the examination, around 1.73 lakh registered for it. Here are more details.
Results and AIR list will be available on online portal
The results are expected to be out at 10 AM on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. IIT-Roorkee will reportedly also release a category-wise list of the All India Ranks (AIR) of all the successful candidates. All the candidates will be able to check this list through the online portal. Moreover, the results will also be sent on the registered mobile numbers of the candidates.
Admission depends on the availability of seats, states official notification
Meanwhile, the notification also said that candidates will not be sent individual rank cards. Primarily, students should note that "filling up choices and/or participating in the joint seat allocation process do not guarantee a candidate to get admission in IITs." Adding further information, the official notification released also stated, "Admission will depend on the availability of seats during various rounds of seat allocation."
Experts suggest cut-off expected to fall this year
The JEE Advanced exam was conducted on May 27 and the answer key of the same was released later. According to the experts, while the cut-off for 2019 is expected to fall, the lowest qualifying marks will increase as the total number of marks increased from 360 to 372. Reportedly, the cut-off marks might vary from 127 to 142 for the general category.

Earlier, an expert explained, "The cut-offs for admissions to IITs has been 30-35% of the total marks." He further added, "This year, I am expecting it to go between 27-30% - which will be roughly around 105+ marks out of 372."

IIT-Bombay closed Computer Science Engineering at AIR 30 in 2018
Since there are approximately only 11,279 seats available in all 23 IITs, the competition remains high. Last year, the closing AIR for Computer Science Engineering, which is the most sought-after course, was 30 at IIT-Bombay. At IIT-Delhi, it went up to AIR-100, followed by IIT-Madras which closed the course at AIR-200. The last candidate to get admitted to the course was AIR-5484 at IIT-Jammu.
