JEE Main 2019 results delayed, expected after April 30

    What's the story

The National Testing Agency (NTA) concluded the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2019 for the April phase on April 12.

Now, the candidates are waiting for the results and they might have to be little more patient, as officials of the NTA have informed that the results would be delayed.

As per reports, the JEE Main results can now be expected after April 30.

    Statement

The results are being prepared currently, says NTA official

According to an official, "The results are being prepared right now. We will not be able to release the results early as we did with the first JEE Main in January."

"The results can be expected after April 30, which means results will be delayed this time," official added.

January results were released after a week, which was expected from April edition as well.

    Details

Delay probably because of load of tasks NTA has currently

Although the official notice released earlier by the NTA stated that the results will be out before April 30, it was expected much sooner, because of the January feat.

Experts believe the delay is because of the load of tasks NTA has to handle currently, i.e., preparation of cumulative rank list based on JEE Main January and JEE Main April results and NTA Scores.

    Process

Merit list will release after merging Jan and April candidates

NTA, established in November 2017 by the government, will also release the rank list after the April results are announced.

The final percentile for the candidates, who have appeared for JEE Main in both January and April exams, will be obtained by considering the best out of two.

After merging all the candidates from both exam sessions, the final merit list will be announced.

    Marking Scheme

Know the changes made by NTA in marking scheme

As per the other changes, candidates won't be given any ranks.

NTA will merge the raw marks obtained in each subject to calculate percentiles.

However, raw scores in each subject will be used to break ties between candidates.

Those with higher marks in Mathematics will be given preference, followed by Physics, and then Chemistry.

Lastly, the dates of birth will also be considered.
