JEE-Advanced: In last ten years, these topics were frequently asked
2.45 lakh candidates qualified for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced, sole doorway to 23 IITs, this year and around 1.73 lakh who registered for the same, are all set to appear for the exam on Monday. Ray optics and optical instruments dominated Physics section
As per the data provided by the renowned Aakash Educational Services, 'Ray optics and optical instruments' was the most popular topic in Physics, as 30 questions were asked from the topic in the last decade. It was followed by 'Laws of motion and work, energy and power' from which 26 questions were asked, and 'System of practices and rotational motions' at 25 times.
For acing Chemistry, put special focus on Organic Chemistry
Meanwhile, the least asked ones came from 'Kinetic theory' and 'Mechanical properties of solid' with only 5 and 3 questions respectively. In Chemistry, 'Aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids', 'Coordination compounds' and 'The p-block elements' were the top choices of topics and constituted 40, 32 and 24 questions respectively. Further, only one question was asked from 'Chemistry in everyday life' in JEE-Advanced exam in 10yrs.
Mathematics' conic section most asked topic among all three subjects
Among all the subjects, Mathematics' 'Conic section' was the most asked topic with 55 questions followed by 'Application of derivatives' and 'Linear programming and probability' with 33 and 30 questions each. Meanwhile, only 2 questions each were asked from 'Sets' and 'Relations and functions'.
List of types of questions usually asked in JEE-Advanced
The types of questions that are asked in JEE-Advanced include: 1- MCQs that can have one or more correct answers. 2- Comprehension based objective-type questions. 3- Matrix match type questions where one has to match two columns. 4- Integer type questions, i.e., a subjective question whose answer can be an integer or upto two decimal places. Also note, this exam will have negative marking.

Meanwhile, IIT Roorkee, which is conducting JEE-Advanced 2019, released the admit cards on May 20, and here is how you can download it. 1- Visit JEE-Advanced(2019) official website, jeeadv.ac.in 2- Click on 'Candidate Portal' link available on the homepage. 3- Login using the registration number and date of birth. 4- Download the admit card from there and take a printout.
