Over 4,000 vehicles fined in a fortnight for traffic violation
Over 4,400 vehicles were fined, and 140 were seized for violation of traffic rules in the last fortnight in Jammu. According to Superintendent of Police (Traffic of Rural Jammu) Shaheen Wahid, the traffic police also counseled the violators before imposing fine on them. "A total of 4,442 vehicles were challaned (fined), and 140 vehicles were seized in Jammu," an official said. Here's more.
Jammu traffic police had launched special drives last month
Around 435 vehicles were booked for overloading, 751 people for not wearing crash helmets, 522 for not wearing seatbelts, 501 for driving without a license, 26 for use of mobile while driving, 128 for overspeeding, 135 for pressure horns, and 134 commercial vehicles for tape recorders. To ensure strict enforcement of rules, the traffic police in rural Jammu had launched special drives last month.
